A Well Earned Retirement

Our best wishes to long-standing members Ray and Mary Bull who have retired to Yorkshire after a good many years living in the area. Ray and Mary were always supportive of the Society and often played an important part in the work of the Lickey Hills Society particularly relating to developments in the Beacon Hill area. They were also very active in the movement to keep Rubery in Worcestershire when the government's Boundary Commission considered incorporating the area into Birmingham City.

Recent Events

Our thanks to member Peggy Michell for a very entertaining and informative evening's talk about her fund raising trip to Mongolia earlier this year. Peggy went on a camel trek in the Gobi desert to raise funds for the charity Riding for the Disabled. As well as being given fascinating insights into the traditional life of the Mongolian people, members had the opportunity to try on the beautiful traditional costumes brought back by Peggy. Who should step forward but Vice-chairman, Jill Harvey, who looked full of eastern promise in her Mongolian silks, whilst Secretary, Baden Carlson, though in character, was a less impressive Genghis Khan! Michael Stewart Photography of Bromsgrove kindly provided the video images of Peggy's trip.
