Welcome to the Lickey Hills Society web site.

Extra Event: Pond Puddling Work Party. Saturday 8th October 2011, 11:00am - 1:00pm

Come and help the rangers complete the puddling of the pond off Rose Hill. This will involve wheel-barrowing the remaining clay into the pond and then stomping and treading on it until we get a nice even watertight layer on the base of the pond.

Bring wellies and old clothes, it will get mucky.

Response to Bromsgrove District Council's Draft Core Strategy

Please take a look at our response to Bromsgrove District Council's Draft Core Strategy - published April 2011.

The Lickey Hills Society was formed in 1985 to meet the immediate and future threats to the Lickey landscape, and public open space. The objectives of the Society are:

  1. To organise concerted action for protecting the landscape and natural beauty of the Lickey Hills, and surrounding countryside.
  2. To resist inappropriate developement which would destroy the essential character of the area and interfere with the public's quiet enjoyment of the hills and surrounding countryside.
  3. To secure improvements of footpaths and other features of public interest.
  4. To encourage public awareness of the areas natural amenities, history and natural history.

The web site is a new project that we hope will enable us to provide information about the Society, the Lickey Hills, and the relationship between them. We have not yet fully developed the content of the site, but please keep returning, and we hope we will have more information here.

Meanwhile, if you have any queries please E-mail us at info@lhs.org.uk and we will endeavour to answer your queries as soon as possible.
